Steve Berry – The King’s Deception

Steve Berry’s latest is The King’s Deception, a story set not only in modern times but also over four centuries ago. It revolves around the popular legend that Queen Elizabeth 1 was in fact an impostor, and quite possibly a male illegitimate son of Tudor lineage. In our talk, Berry explores this legend that was investigated decades ago by none other than Bram Stoker (yes, he of Dracula fame) and makes some compelling points in its favor. The writer weaves this speculation into a Cotton Malone thriller, centered on conflicting agendas between the British Secret Service and the CIA that has current ramifications that could explode the powder keg that is contemporary Ireland, inflaming old hatreds. History buffs and thriller fans alike will enjoy this alternate take on the British Empire, and further tales of the ever fascinating ruler, Henry VIII.
